Simcoe is a dual-purpose hop that can be used in all hop additions throughout the brewing process.

Alongside its fruity and slightly earthy aromas,  Simcoe hop aromas includes grapefruit, passion fruit, pine and berry characteristics.

In addition to its great bittering qualities, the Simcoe hop variety - often referred to as "Cascade on steroids" - is known for its tropical fruit flavors.

It is commonly used in India pale ales and pale ales.

This is the hop that helped to bring California Double IPAs like Pliney the Elder from Russian River Brewing Company into the spotlight.

Use it in the kettle for bittering with character, in the whirlpool for grapefruit and tropical stonefruit impact


Alpha Acid (AA): 11-15%

Purpose: Dual

Aroma:fruity, earthy, grapefruit, passion fruit, pine, berry, apricot, bubblegum & citrus

Beer styles: American Ale, IPA, Black IPA, Double IPAAmerican Pale Ales.

Substitutions: AmarilloCentennial, Citra, Columbus
