A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles may be obtained from the website of The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au
What is Personal Information and why do we collect it?
Personal Information is information or an opinion that identifies an individual. Examples of Personal Information we collect include (but are not limited to): names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers (including for SMS/text message communications), facsimile numbers, device push tokens (for notifications), IP Addresses, device operating-systems, the KegMaster application update tokens.
This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including interviews, correspondence, by telephone, by email, via our KegMaster App, via our websites (www.kegmaster.com.au, www.kegking.com.au), from your website, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources, and from third parties. We don’t guarantee website links or policy of authorised third parties.
We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you, providing information to our clients and marketing. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing.
When we collect Personal Information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.
Text Message (SMS) Marketing and Transactional Messages
If you provide your mobile phone number to us — for example, at checkout, through a website sign-up form or pop-up, or by texting a keyword to us — and opt in to receive text messages, we will use your phone number to send you:
- Marketing messages, such as promotions, product announcements, restock alerts and cart reminder messages; and
- Transactional messages, such as order confirmations, shipping and delivery updates, and account or service notifications.
Consent. We only send marketing text messages to individuals who have provided express consent (opt-in) to receive them, in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Consent is collected separately from, and is not a condition of, any purchase. Transactional messages relating to an order or service you have requested may be sent without separate marketing consent, as these are not promotional in nature.
Message frequency and cost. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Opting out. You can opt out of receiving marketing text messages at any time by replying "STOP" to any message you receive from us, or by contacting us using the details at the end of this policy. Once you opt out, we will honour your request within the timeframe required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) (generally within 5 working days), and you will no longer receive marketing texts from us, although you may still receive transactional messages related to an order or service you have requested.
Service providers. We use Klaviyo, a third-party marketing and messaging platform, to send and manage our SMS/text message communications. Klaviyo processes your phone number and related message data on our behalf, solely for the purpose of delivering these communications, and is subject to its own privacy and data protection obligations.
Third-party sharing exclusion. The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties (other than the service providers we use to deliver text messages on our behalf, such as Klaviyo, as described above).
Abandoned Cart Text Messages
Keg King's website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to help keep track of items you put into your shopping cart, including when you have started but not completed a purchase (an "abandoned cart"). If you have consented to receive marketing text messages and provided your phone number during checkout, this cart information is used to determine when to send you cart reminder messages by text message. You can opt out of these messages at any time as described in the "Text Message (SMS) Marketing and Transactional Messages" section above.
Sensitive Information
Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.
Sensitive information will be used by us only:
- For the primary purpose for which it was obtained
- For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose
- With your consent; or where required or authorised by law.
