Hersbrucker is a noble type German hop with spice, fruit and floral characteristics. Often used as an aroma hop, Hersbrucker has a low alpha acid percentage but generous oil content. Its mostly used for the finishing touches on German and Bavarian style Lagers and Pilsners.

Hersbrucker Spaet is a traditional variety with a balanced aroma and a low bitter aid content. It is very robust and has a good tolerance towards diseases.


Alpha Acid (AA): 1.5-5%

Purpose: Aroma

Aroma: noble, hay, orange & tobacco.

Beer styles: Dunkel, Strong Ale, Pilsner, Altbier, Weizenbock, Golden Ale, MarzenPale AleWheat, Specialty Ale, Hefeweizen, Light Ale & Lager.

Substitutions: Hallertau
