DESCRIPTION

NEIPA stands for New England India Pale Ale, a style that began rising in popularity, especially around 2013 with the growing interest in Vermont (New England) based brewery The Alchemist’s beer Heady Topper. From them and from other breweries this new IPA style began to develop a following in beer drinkers who discovered that clear beer doesn’t matter, bitterness in IPA can be reduced, hop flavour increased and mouth feel smoothed out to be silky and, dare we say it, creamy?

That’s right. NEIPA began a war between IPA loving beer drinkers with one side claiming West Coast was the best coast and the others claiming East Coast was the coast with the most. So, the birth of a new style beer began and a great drink started to appear on taps across the globe. Cloudy bright white yellow, bursting with hop aroma and filled to the edges with delicious, fruity, resiny, dank hop flavour, NEIPA is another modern take on the India Pale Ale style.

Our Ben’s Lefty Juicy was designed by none other than Ben from the gang at Grain and Grape in Yarraville.  In his clever recipe Ben captured the essence of the NEIPA style. When we say it’s juicy, we mean the hop character because there is absolutely no fruit juice in the brew. All the fruity goodness is derived from the combination of hops on brew day as well as from the hops added during the fermentation process. Not once, but TWICE! That’s right, this Keg King Beer Kit comes with two packs of hops, one of which goes in  at high krausen (big foam on top of early fermentation) and the other gets added three (3) days before packaging. Every sip of Ben’s Lefty Juicy will fool you into thinking there is fruit juice in this beer when you’re tasting pineapple, strawberry and stone fruits wrapped in the smooth full bodied malt goodness.

Get this one fermenting properly in true NEIPA fashion with Bluestone New England yeast, Bluestone London, M36 Liberty Bell or LalBrew New England yeast. You’ll be impressed with how smooth and drinkable your beer is and as with all IPA’s these beers are best enjoyed fresh!

One taste and you’ll join the craze for haze in your beers and you’ll find the perfect pairing with foods like grilled shrimp, red snapper, BBQ glazed pork and mild cheeses like burrata, mozzarella, edam and Monterey Jack.

We now brew this highly enjoyable East Coast IPA at our Keg King Brewery in Springvale, Victoria. Our brewers continue to strive for excellence and consistency to make authentic all grain beers of distinction. Every beer style and every ingredient are carefully put together to create a unique brew with the freshest flavour you’ll ever savour. Ready when you are, Keg King Brewing has a beer for every occasion so you can always pour something special without hassle or expense. Skip the brew day and leave the hard work to us. Simply pour the kit into your fermenter, top up with water, pitch your yeast and keep your brew at temp. You’ll enjoy every sip of the easiest beers you’ve ever made at price that smashes every commercial offering at the bottle-o. Keg King Brewing is beer brewed better. Take one home and make your own drop of heaven.

Craft Brewing Keg King Fresh Wort Kits: Small Batch – Huge Results!

Our entire range of Keg King Fresh Wort Kits is craft brewed in small batches in our own brewery. Each kit is designed around a recognised beer style and made with style-specific ingredients for authentic flavour in every beer.

We take brewing very seriously. No corners are cut and nothing is compromised. We only use the highest quality, freshest malt and hops to bring each kit to life. But we don’t stop there.

To really drive home the authenticity of each kit, we go the extra mile, incorporating traditional brewing techniques and clever hands-on processes that yield high-quality results you’ll savour in every sip.

Decoction Mashing

Our European golden lagers, like the Czech Pilsner and Munich Helles, incorporate actual decoction mashes to capture the clarity, colour and subtle flavour enhancements that the extra work on brew day brings to the kits.

Iteration Mashing

The Matt’s Imperial Stout kit is the result of a 24-hour triple-iteration mashing process. This stacks up the high starting gravity points and delivers a stout so potent you can barrel-age it for years and keep coming back to see how it evolves over time.

Cold Steep Infusion

Our Dark Rice Lager, Irish Draught Stout and Oatmeal Stout kits use an overnight cold-steeped specialty malt infusion to deliver dark colour and deep, rich flavours without harsh astringency. You’ll notice the smoothness in every glass.

Hop Stands

XPA, West Coast IPA, NEIPA and Red IPA are all kept hop-forward in flavour but still balanced, without harsh or bitter astringency. The extra time and carefully calculated hop additions are all part of our brewer’s attention to detail, so the final results have impact that will keep you coming back for more. The hop stand is a brilliant way to preserve hop oils and keep the aroma exactly where we want it… in the beer!

The Craft All Adds Up

Our love of craft brewing is what drives us to keep offering new beer styles and widen our range. We put our heart into each kit we brew, ensuring the quality and the ingredients all add up to something bigger than the sum of its parts.
