These wort kits are made on a Speidel 500L Braumeister Brewery, they are all grain and brewed true to style. They are especially suited to time poor brewers or those who simply want an excellent beer with a minimum of effort.


NOTE: These kits are generally designed to add 3 litres of water to the fermentation to achieve the ideal balance, you may if you wish, not add the extra water for a higher gravity version. Yeast not included.

 

 

DESCRIPTION

A Pale Ale brewed in the classical British style. It is malty with firm bitterness at the same time making it nicely balanced. It has been bittered using Horizon hops, and generous amounts of Fuggles and East Kent Goldings have been added for flavour and aroma.

Dry Hopping is not essential with this beer but if you’d like to experiment you could try 40g of Goldings in the fermenter 3 days before packaging.

Starting Gravity: 1.059 undiluted, 1.050 with 3 litres of water added

Bitterness: 35 IBU’s using Challenger hops.
Grist make up: Joe White Pilsner 46%, JW Ale 46%, JW Crystal 4% and JW Caramalt 4%.
Late hops: Fuggle and Golding

 

No dry hopping suggestions.


Recommended yeasts:
Bluestone London, Lallemand Windsor Ale, SAFS04 or Danstar Nottingham.
