Hydrom Wifi And Bluetooth Hydro-/Thermometer

Are You Ready for 21st Century Brewing?

Product Description

Hydrom Wifi & Bluetooth Hydrometer Thermometer

Get the German Designed solution for accurate, easy monitoring of your fermentations!

The Hydrom is a smart hydrometer for measuring the density of the liquid.

To achive this, you put the calibrated Hydrom in the liquid and can calculate the buoyancy and density of the liquid by the position of the device in space.

With these measured values, the device automatically calculates the Plato or SG value, which is used, for example, for brewing beer.

This new measuring instrument combines the advantages of all free-floating hydrometers on the market.

It sends the measurement data via Bluetooth or wifi, is a fully assembled product and does not require you to register your device in the cloud!

No extra hardware is required to send the readings to any of the many compatible cloud services.

Just a wifi router if you want tor track your fermentations remotely and that's it!

Features

Wifi

The Hydrom can be used standalone as an accestyle="font-family: Gotham Rounded Book"ss point or as a client in an existing network.

The Hydrom can be used standalone as an access point or as a client in an existing network. In addition, the Hydrom can be used as a Bluetooth transmitter.

This function is enabled by default to ensure a quick start.

Bluetooth

UUID, Specific Gravity and Temperature are sent via ibeacon to end devices.

There is no obligation to use cloud services.

The device can be used locally via MQTT, GenericTCP, Bluetooth, etc.

No Cloud Constraint

There is no obligation to use cloud services. The device can be used locally via MQTT, GenericTCP, Bluetooth ect.

Multible Cloud-Services

All relevant cloud services can be connected.

Many different cloud systems can be connected to provide recipes or virtualizations.

Examples are Ubidots, Brewblox, Brewfather ect..

Calibration Wizard

The wizard supports calibration when it is necessary.

Instead of Excel lists, you can now use a calibration tool that is understandable for everyone and that guides you step by step in an easy to understand manual.

Update over Web

  1. Game Changer for Pressure Fermentation!

I can't tell how much I love this thing when it come to gravity and temp checks.
I was never one for doing original and final gravity (OG and FG) checks because I'm lazy and I only do extract brewing. I did up my game with a Kegerator a few years ago allowing me to do temp controlled fermentation and while that was a game changer for fermentation and bottling I still didn't do gravity checks, I'd reduce/crash the beer after the max time according to the recipe, yes, often off yeast taste and smell...but drinkable.
While I'm still doing extract brewing I upped my game again with a pressure fermenter. I like Lagers and Ales so pressure fermenting allows me to no longer worry too much about fermentation temps (using the Kegerator for fermentation), but how would I know when the beer's fermented out without doing Gravity readings, especially with the higher temps involved...Enter our new bestie, the Hydrom! Clean and sanitise it like any other brewing equipment and pop it in to the fermenter when you pitch your yeast, or before if you're keeping an eye on the temp to pitch your yeast!
I now get the OG and and can keep an eye for the gravity to stop falling so I know when to reduce/crash the beer ready for kegging, hello true alcohol content for the first time!
I've used it over 3 brews to date. I've had one (major) issue where I turned it off between the first and second brews and it wouldn't connect to my WiFi without the charge cable plugged in, an email to Hydrom support with a fast reply from them put me on the right track and it's been 100% golden since then.
I'm using Ubidots - Stem as my interface of choice because it's free and super configurable allowing to add all the metrics in 1 interface but I tested in on Grainfather's free app which also worked a treat, Grainfatherr only shows Temp and Gravity readings though, Ubidots allows me to also add the Battery level and WiFi strength indicators as well as a graph for Temp and Gravity(yes, I'm a nerd).
As for the batter usage, mine is currently set to output data every 30 minutes (I'm changing it to 15 for my next brew), at 30 mins it is using less than 3% per week, it's the same 18650 battery you'd see in a Vaping device. I'm guessing at 15 minute intervals it will use about 5% per week, that's almost 5 months if left on 24/7.
Obviously I'm a fan, yes there are other devices out there but they're locked in to the manufacturer's software. The Make Your Own version was designed by the dude who makes the Hydrom, it has all the benefits in a purchasable device.
Sorry, at this point I sound like a Hydrom shill or a kegKing shill, I assure you I'm not, I'm simply someone who really enjoys a product!
Get onboard if it suits your purpose! :)
    Cheers
    Glen
